The History of Mead Street Blues Reunion

In 1960 while in college at Kansas State University, Dave Duncan and Curtis Newby joined a Rock and Roll band being formed. The Band "Bill and The Shields" played local clubs, bars, fraternity parties and sock hops for the next 2 years and then disbanded.

A chance meeting on an elevator 38 years later in the historic Old Town area of Wichita, Kansas got Dave and Curtis back together again. They started jammin and soon discovered thier common love of early 1950's blues music. They started playing the blues at several local venues and writing alot of their own songs, thus the "Mead Street Blues Reunion" was formed.
